Keys at the Classic

MADISON KEYS RETURNS

22-year-old Madison Keys only went pro in 2009, but since then, she’s risen to a career-high ranking of No. 7 and currently holds the ranking of No. 16.

After going pro at the age of 14, Keys won her first match at the age of 16, against Jill Craybas at the U.S. Open in 2011.

Playing seven tournaments this year, most recently Wimbledon, Keys will join Sharapova, Bellis and Liu on the courts, as a seeded player at the classic.

Statistics from wtatennis.com.

The Daily originally reported that Keys was a wild card, while she was seeded at the event. The Daily regrets this error.
